How to Keep Your Carpets Looking Like New
Expert Advice from your Carpet Care Professional
The following suggestions and instructions will keep your carpets
looking cleaner much longer.
Vacuuming: We recommend vacuuming your carpeting frequently
(once a day if possible). Vacuuming removes loose soil before it
becomes embedded in the carpet fiber. Frequent vacuuming does
not wear out your carpets.
Shoes: Many of our customers with fine homes and expensive
carpeting have shoes removed at the door. You may elect to have
family members follow this policy and exempt your guests.
Removing shoes at the door will add months to the new, clean look
of your carpets.
Carpet Care Products: Do not put any products on your carpet
unless advised by your carpet care professional. Many of the “off
the shelf” carpet deodorizers and spotters leave dirt attracting
residues that will cause rapid re-soiling of the carpet. Avoid them!
Area Rugs: Inexpensive area rugs are great for heavy traffic areas
like the transition between the kitchen and dining room. These
rugs can be quickly removed when you are expecting guests. It is
recommended that area rugs with a latex or soft backing be used.
Do not use area rugs with a jute backing.
Removing Spots and Stains with Spot Remover
We have just made life much simpler for you. You no longer need
to be a chemist to care for your carpeting. If you had your carpet
protected, you will now be able to quickly remove spills, spots and
stains with one simple process.
Liquid Spills and Stains
1. Blot up all liquid spills immediately by putting a terry cloth towel
or several layers of white paper towels on the carpet and then
walking on it. This will force the liquid into the towels. Repeat this
process until the towels are no longer damp.
2. Spray The Masters Spot Remover generously on the area and
repeat the blotting technique one more time. This product removes
any sticky residue that may cause the carpet to attract soil.
Grease, Oil, Soil, and Other Spot/Stains
1. Remove any loose materials with a butter knife or towel.
2. Spray the area generously with The Masters Spot Remover and
blot out with a clean terry cloth towel or white paper towels. Repeat
the process until the spot/stain is gone.
The Masters Spot Remover is the most effective spotter available. It
will remove most spots/stains and actually helps prevent re-soiling
in your carpet.
